Storm Debi, designated by the Irish National Met Service, Met Éireann, hit the UK bringing with it powerful winds and heavy rainfall. The regions most impacted included parts of Northern Ireland, south-west Scotland, north-west England, and North Wales. The strongest gusts were recorded along the Irish Sea coasts, winds exceeding 60 knots (69 mph). Alongside the fierce winds, Storm Debi and its associated fronts unleashed a significant amount of rain, with widespread totals of 30 to 50 mm and over 100 mm in the higher elevations of north-west England.
