A train traveling from Glasgow Central to London Euston derailed after the driver reported striking an object around 6:10 am. Thankfully, all passengers were unharmed and were safely evacuated to a nearby hotel before being transported to their final destinations by road. Network Rail engineers are collaborating with the Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB) to investigate the cause of the derailment, which is believed to be linked to a suspected landslip in the area. The incident has blocked the opposite line, and while efforts are underway to restore service, no trains will operate between Preston and Carlisle throughout Tuesday, November 4.
