Liz
Liz's fascination with extreme weather began at a young age when her mother would wake her up at night to watch thunderstorms from their bedroom window. As a self-proclaimed adrenaline junkie, witnessing a tornado in person has always been on Liz's bucket list. She made that dream come true in 2018 when she went storm chasing across the USA with Brandon Ivey, known from the Discovery Channel's Storm Chasers. |
With a BSc in Earth Sciences that included significant studies in meteorology and fluid dynamics, Liz has been a registered Skywarn Storm Spotter since February 2014 and became a Site Surveyor in 2022. While she loves the excitement of chasing storms, her primary goal remains scientific observation and documentation.
Additionally, Liz is dedicated to educating others about extreme weather, safety measures, and fostering a general enthusiasm for meteorology. With a PGCE and experience as an adult educator since 2006, she ensures that every lesson or educational program she conducts is grounded in solid teaching principles and experience.

With support from Nodrog, I became part of the Weatherfans team, which helped me build my confidence and skills. Now, with a Level 3 diploma in Meteorology under my belt, I've been actively chasing storms since 2022, witnessing tornadoes, supercells, severe winds, and extreme heat—all from the UK. Storm chasing is definitely not for the timid, but once you get hooked, there's no turning back!

Michael
Michael joined the Weatherfans crew right from the start in 2021. Before that, he spent seven years with another group. He’s been on tons of storm chases, and once during a live stream, lightning struck just 20 feet away from him! He’s also been behind the scenes for radio interviews at BBC Birmingham and has been behind the camera at BBC Breakfast. |
In 2015, he was one of the lucky few to test out the BBC Weather Watchers before it launched to the public a few months later.
Michael's been into weather since he was a teenager. He loves sharing his photos and videos with fellow weather enthusiasts. Over the years, he’s built up his knowledge by actively chasing storms and taking online courses.
Since starting a family in 2021, you can catch Michael hosting live streams during big weather events. While the team is out chasing storms, he’s busy guiding them and sharing the latest updates, plus bringing them on screen. Don’t miss him hosting WeatherFans Live every Sunday at 8pm on the WeatherFansOfficial YouTube channel!
